Early Signals Of Lung Cancer

4. Voice Changes

A change in voice can be an early sign of lung cancer. Changes in the sound of speech or difficulty producing certain sounds can be symptoms of early-stage lung cancer, while significant hoarseness or a loss of voice is a sign of advanced lung cancer.

These symptoms can be caused by damage to the nerves that regulate the larynx (voice box), or by a tumor located in the space between the two lungs, which can put pressure on the larynx, affecting the voice. Chronic cough also irritates the larynx, which can lead to hoarseness or a loss of voice.
